Frequently Asked Questions
Most of our members wear neat, casual attire. You will see jeans, shorts, dresses and business casual. Just wear whatever you are comfortable in.
Our worship service on average is about 1 hour and 10 minutes long. Our monthly communion service may be slightly longer.
Our service is fairly traditional with a few exceptions: 1) At the beginning we sing some contemporary praise songs with words projected on a screen. 2) We have time of shared greeting when we briefly hold hands and sing. Don’t worry, if you’d prefer not to hold hands just let your neighbor know. 3) Children and babies stay for the service and sit with their parents. We have a time in which the children come forward to sit in the front and listen to a short message designed for them. You are welcome to accompany your child if they are hesitant to come forward.
Once a month, most often the first Sunday of the month, Communion is served in the later part of the service. Communion, a celebration and remembrance of the Lord’s Supper is open to any baptized believer. Servers will pass out grape juice and bread, and we all share together. If you’d prefer not to partake, just let the server know with a slight wave of your hand.
We only have one weekly worship service each Sunday morning. However, we have special services throughout the year, most frequently around the holidays of Easter and Christmas.
Some people go home, but many adults and youth stay for our Christian education meeting downstairs in our Fellowship Hall, where we learn more about our faith. Snacks are served and childcare is provided at this time.
On communion Sundays, instead of Christian education, we have a coffee hour where we just hang out, eat snacks, and talk with one another for about a half hour or so.
